Community Garden Project
"Plant seeds of happiness, hope, success, and love. It will all come..."
-Steve Maraboli
Many of us may not realize the level of community members facing hunger in every county in Wisconsin.1 out of 14 people face hunger in Wisconsin, and 1 in 8 children face hunger. They could be our neighbors, or even kids in our children's classes – it's very possible you may not even realize that someone you know is facing food insecurity. However, our communities are stronger when we join together to support one another and give our neighbors a hand up!
One of the missions at Bee Happy Haven Farm is to make nutritious food accessible to everyone. Our hope is to bring the community together to connect, be nourished, and heal. For those that do not know, working with the soil is a proven antidepressant. Learning to grow good quality home raised foods and providing fresh foods even just part of the year can make a big difference to a family's budget and overall health.
Through the Community Garden Project at Bee Happy Haven Farm, we would love to provide free workshops to youth and offer community garden space and/or monthly produce boxes to families in need. We want to offer a safe space to teach the community how to grow food, connect to the land, and develop skills while supporting their local farmer. We would appreciate your support to get this project up and running. Thank you.
